Miss Ashley started gymnastics at the age of 4. At the age of 6 she began her competitive career in USAG gymnastics advancing all the way to level 10. Entering high school, she was competing in her third year of level 9 and qualified to Eastern Nationals. At that same time, she began coaching recreational classes and pre-team. For the remainder of her high school years, she competed level 10 and qualified to States and Regionals each year and continued coaching. She attended the University of Rhode Island and was a member of their College Gymnastics Team for all 4 years. Her college team placed at the NAIGC each year.
Miss Ashley began coaching at SOMERSault Jungle in January of 2021 teaching both recreational classes and our competitive teams. She is currently our head USAG team coach and “loves every second of it”. She is also currently working on her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling working specifically with children.

Mr. Harvey competed on the Longmeadow High School men’s gymnastics team for all 4 of his high school years. Over the years he was an assistant coach for the W. Springfield High School girls’ team and head coach of the Westfield State College team. He was the head coach of the Longmeadow High School girls’ team for 17 years before owning Stony Hill Gymnastics for about 15 years. He then became the acro coach for New England Dance Center competitive dance team, which he has done for the last 22 years.
Mr. Harvey has been working with our AAU and USAG competitive teams at the Jungle since 2018. His knowledge of gymnastics, acro, and dance has been beneficial to all of our teams.

Miss Karen began competitive gymnastics at the age of 8 competing in USAG gymnastics. She also competed in High School gymnastics at Somers High School. She started coaching gymnastics at age 16 at Tri-Town gymnastics. She competed at Southern Connecticut State University and coached high school gymnastics and at private gyms throughout her college years. After graduating college as a Biology major she moved to Illinois where she continued to coach at private gyms and high schools. Eventually she returned to Connecticut and became a High School teacher and continued to coach gymnastics. Another fun fact: She also coached Miss Bailey. She also choreographed the musicals for the Putnam High School drama department. Since 1999 she has been a Science teacher at Somers High School. In the school year 1999-2000 she coached a Co-op gymnastic team with Somers and Rockville High School which won 2nd place in the State High School Finals. In 2016 we were lucky to have Miss Karen come work at the Jungle. She says “by the way is the best gym I have ever worked at!”
Miss Keiara started gymnastics when she was 14 years old when she joined the Rockville High School gymnastics team and eventually became co-captain. She also has a background in Tang Soo Do Martial Arts as well as Cheerleading and Tumbling. While in high school she began volunteering to teach classes at Tri-Town and soon thereafter began her career as a gymnastics coach. During her senior year her High School team tied for 1st place at the Connecticut High School State Championship.
